How to test if the wheel rim is suitable?

The suitability of a wheel rim directly affects the safety, stability, and service life of equipment. Determining whether a wheel rim is truly "suitable" cannot be limited to simply whether a tire can be installed; it requires systematic testing and verification from multiple aspects, including size matching, load capacity, structural quality, sealing performance, and actual operating conditions.

First, it should be confirmed that the rims are fully compatible with the tires and the entire machine in terms of specifications.

Whether the rim size conforms to tire standards , whether the rim width is within the tire's allowable range , whether the number of bolt holes, the distribution circle diameter (PCD), and the center hole size are consistent with the overall machine hub , and whether the rim offset meets the overall machine's steering and load-bearing requirements . Any mismatch in dimensional parameters will lead to assembly difficulties, abnormal stress, or premature failure.

For high-load or mining wheel rims, non-destructive testing methods should be used to inspect for internal defects in critical stress areas. The ability to detect potential problems without damaging the rim is a crucial quality assurance measure for mining wheel rims.
